Privacy policy

Sachse TX Business (sachsetxbusiness.com) is an independent directory of local businesses in Sachse, TX, run by Premier Code, Inc ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it.
The short version
- You can browse the directory without an account, and we don't set cookies when you do (unless analytics is on; see Cookies).
- We collect what you send us (forms and accounts), plus basic technical data to keep the site secure.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
What we collect
When you send us a form
The contact, "add your business" and "report an error" forms ask for your name, your email address and your message. "Add your business" also asks for the business's details and your relationship to it. With each form we record your IP address and browser type to stop abuse. If you're signed in, we link the message to your account.
When you create an account
Your name, your email address and your password. We store only a one-way hash of the password, never the password itself. We record when you confirmed your email address.
When you write a review
Your star rating, your review and the date, which are public, shown with your first name and last initial. If you report a review, we keep your reason and note, and the business doesn't see who reported it. If you own a business, your replies to its reviews are public.
When you upload a photo
Business owners can add photos of their business. We remove the hidden details phone cameras add (such as where and when a photo was taken) before showing them. We keep the file you uploaded privately so we can make new sizes later, and delete it when you delete the photo.
When you ask for support
If you sponsor a business, Stripe collects your card details and billing address on its own secure page; we never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription references, your sponsorship's level and categories, and, for each payment or refund, the amounts, the sales tax and the billing name and address, because tax law requires these records. If you cancel, we keep the reason you give so we can follow up and improve.
If you open a support request from your account, we keep what you and our staff write, the topic, and the business it's about if you choose one. Only you and our staff can see it. Staff may add notes for each other that you don't see.
When you browse
Our servers log each request (IP address, page, browser type and time) to run and secure the site. On the live site we also use Google Analytics, which collects how visitors use the site; see Cookies.
On a business's page we count views and taps on its Call, Website and Directions links, so the business can see how many people we sent its way. Each count is a total per business per day. To count each visitor only once a day, we keep a one-way code made from your IP address and browser type with a key that changes every day, and delete it after 2 days; we don't store the IP address or browser type, and we set no cookie for this. Business owners see only the totals. Links to a business's website carry tags (utm_source) that tell the business the visit came from us.
Business information
Business listings (names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, opening hours and similar details) come from public sources and from the businesses' own websites. This is information about businesses, not about you as a visitor. If you own or run a listed business and something is wrong, use the Report an error link on its page, or contact us to ask for a correction or removal.
How we use it
- To answer your messages and review the businesses you suggest or correct.
- To run your account: sign-in, email confirmation and password resets.
- To keep the site secure: blocking spam, limiting repeated sign-in attempts and investigating abuse.
- To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate, and improve the site.
We send you email only about something you asked for (a reply, a confirmation or a password reset). We don't add you to a mailing list unless you sign up for one.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us, and only for that purpose:
- DigitalOcean hosts our servers, database and images.
- HugeMx delivers our email.
- Stripe takes sponsorship payments, works out sales tax and keeps the payment records. It is covered by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks form and sign-in submissions for bots. It is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used.
- Google Maps shows the map on business pages. The map is loaded from Google, which receives your IP address and may set cookies; links to Google Maps open on Google's site.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.
How long we keep it
- Form messages: 2 years after we've handled them. Messages marked as spam: 30 days.
- Support requests: 2 years after they're closed.
- Payment and sales tax records (amounts, tax, billing name and address): 7 years, as tax law requires, even if you delete your account.
- Records of emails we've sent: 90 days.
- Sign-in attempt records used to stop password guessing: 24 hours.
- The daily code used to count each visitor once a day on business pages: 2 days. The daily totals per business: about 2 years.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Reviews: until you delete them or we remove them, and they're deleted with your account.
- Server logs: a short period, usually a few weeks.
Cookies
Browsing the directory (the home, category, business and search pages) sets no cookies of our own. We set cookies only on pages where you sign in or send a form:

The session and security cookies are needed for sign-in and forms to work. You can block or delete analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on; the site works the same without them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to delete your account. Contact us from the email address you used with us, and we'll reply within 45 days. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state's privacy law; we'll honor them as that law requires.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, hash passwords, encrypt stored credentials and limit who can reach our systems. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
This site is for adults. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the site, and email account holders.
